Washington Press Club Foundation – The WPCF Minority/Women’s Internship Partnership

The Washington Press Club Foundation is pleased to announce plans to expand our summer internship program, beginning this summer.

The Ford Corporation, a WPCF supporter, will underwrite a fully-funded, six-week $6,000 summer internship covering government and politics from Washington for a news organization whose mission is primarily to serve a minority or women’s audience.

WPCF interns should be enrolled as students as of January 1, 2011, and should demonstrate financial need. The grants are to fund new intern slots, not offset existing costs.

UNITY Calls On AP to Save Internship Program, Invest in Future

December 8– McLean, VA– The president of UNITY: Journalists of Color calls on The Associated Press to reconsider abandoning its internship program.

AP officials have confirmed that the news service’s internship program will be eliminated as a part of an overall restructuring.
