Job losses in the news industry significantly outpace
losses in the overall economy

RTNDA Survey: Women In News Hits Record High, Number Of Minorities Down
The latest RTNDA/Hofstra University Annual Survey finds women make up over 41 percent of the TV news workforce and over 29 percent of TV news directors. Both are record highs, and it’s the second year in a row that the percentage of women TV news directors has set a new record. The percentages of women in radio news and women as radio news directors also rose. More »
UNITY launches survey on media diversity
In partnership with the Leading Edge Associates (LEA), UNITY is conducting research to examine how diversity in media organizations has been affected by the economic disruption of the industry. This study is part of UNITY's Retention Through Reinvention Project funded by The Ford Foundation.
