NewU Entrepreneurship

NewU Entrepreneurship Grantees Jay Frazer, Cynthia Liu and Ashley Cisneros-Mejia will get business development coaching in 2013 from the National Minority Angel Network. It’s a new partnership designed to continue the growth of entrepreneurs of color who are or have been journalists.

NMAN has embarked on a pioneering program with UNITY Journalists and the Ford Foundation to mentor NEWU Awardees. NEWU Awardees each receive $10,000 in seed investment to go to furthering their winning ideas. The goal of NEWU is to help in the transitioning of Journalist from traditional media to the world of entrepreneurship. The Mentees below were 2011 Awardees based on their business concepts and plans. Over the next year, NMAN will help each entrepreneur continue to develop their ideas and plans by providing coaching and education. The goal is to make a better entrepreneur, a better plan, or possibly being able to receive additional funding. For more information, click on the link:
