FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CONTINENTAL AIRLINES ANNOUNCES SPONSORSHIP OF UNITY ‘08 CONVENTION

McLEAN, VA, May 27, 2008 – Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) has announced its sponsorship of the UNITY: Journalists of Color, Inc.’s UNITY ’08 Convention, held at McCormick Place West, July 23-27, 2008, in Chicago, Ill.

Nearly 10,000 journalists are expected to attend the UNITY ’08 Convention, a collaborative effort between UNITY’s four alliance associations, including the Asian American Journalists Association, the National Association of Black Journalists, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the Native American Journalists Association, that occurs every four years.

“Continental’s sponsorship of UNITY is a natural next step from our four-year relationship as Official Events Airline of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists,” said Ned Walker, Senior Vice President - Worldwide Corporate Communications.  “As a global airline, we applaud UNITY’s efforts to advocate fair and accurate news coverage about our nation’s diverse residents.”

UNITY is pleased to count Continental Airlines among supporters who care about advancing media diversity, said Onica N. Makwakwa, Executive Director.  “The support from Continental Airlines will enable us to focus our resources on supporting programming and student projects at the upcoming UNITY ’08 Convention.”

Continental offers daily nonstop service to 76 Latin American and Caribbean destinations.  The airline serves more destinations (31) in Mexico from the U.S. and has more flights from the U.S. to Mexico than any other carrier.  Continental also serves more (10) cities in Central America any other U.S. carrier.  The airline’s Latin American and Caribbean service comprises 55 percent of the airline’s entire operations.

Continental flies nonstop to 25 Asian destinations, including eight cities in Japan -- more than any other U.S. carrier.  Asian destinations comprise 18 percent of Continental’s entire operations.

“We’re pleased to extend Continental Airlines’ ‘Working Together’ philosophy to our sponsorship of the UNITY ’08 Convention,” Walker said.
