The UF CJC Summer Media Institute is a five-night media and communications camp at the UF College of Journalism and Communications. The camp offers morning elective courses from all disciplines offered at our College: advertising, broadcast, journalism and public relations. Attendees will be able to select their morning elective classes in the spring, once the schedule has been finalized. The camp also includes afternoon professional tracks. Students will pick one subject and spend every afternoon working on their one chosen specialization. This will be a hands-on experience that will allow students to produce portfolio-quality content.
This camp is recommended for all levels of high school journalism experience and all sequences: broadcast, newspaper or yearbook. The camp is designed to prepare students for college, while fully capitalizing on journalism and communications activities in high school.
The fee for each camp includes all housing, meals, instruction and equipment rental.
