NAJA 2013 Convention in Tempe, AZ

The NAJA board of directors is excited to announce that the 2013 convention will be held at the Tempe Mission Palms Hotel and Conference Center, just minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Arizona State University, downtown Phoenix and numerous tribal communities!

The 2013 gathering will be held July 18-21 and it will come at an important time for NAJA, with next year marking 30 years since the first meeting held by NAJA’s founding members. This means the convention in Arizona will be a time for looking back at the successes of the past three decades in Native journalism, and looking at how to continue carrying out NAJA’s missions of increasing the representation of Native journalists in the media and pushing for the highest standards of journalism in coverage of Native Americans and our communities.

A local host committee has already started work on making sure next year’s conference is a great experience for everyone. Registration rates will start as low as $210, and more details about programming, celebrations and opportunities for attendees, exhibitors and sponsors will be announced in the coming weeks and months.
